Turmeric has many health benefits. Most of the time we think of applying turmeric to our face and body for skin purposes and etc. Turmeric can also be delightful while digesting. If you like lattes or frothy drinks I think you might enjoy this recipe.
Each ingredient in this recipe provides different benefits to the body. I’m not going to list all the benefits for each ingredient because this list will become long but I will highlight some health benefits from each ingredient.
Turmeirc is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that has been proven to help prevent diseases, symptoms of depression, cure stomach illness, and obesity.
Ginger is another anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that aids in relieving muscle pain and digestive symptoms such as nausea.
Black pepper aiding in similar benefits as the ingredients above also can help with skin conditions.
Cayenne Pepper has been known to help boost metabolism and reduce hunger. Cayenne pepper also can help reduce psoriasis.
Almond milk is a dairy free option for those who are lactose intolerant. Almond milk is high in vitamin D and low in calories and carbs (if unsweetened) this is great for those who are on a low carb lifestyle.
MCT Oil or Coconut oil helps aid in weight loss because it helps to use fat for energy . MCT oil is a great source of energy for the brain and is known to reduce yeast and bacterial growth that can cause skin infections because it contains high levels of fatty acids.
Turmeric Milk Recipe
- 2 cups of Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 Tbsp of MCT Oil or Coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp of Turmeric
- 1/2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tsp of Cinnamon
- 1/4 Tsp of Ginger powder
- 1/8 Tsp of Cayenne pepper
- 1/8 Tsp of Black Pepper
- 1/4 Tsp of Stevia or Sweetner
Instructions
Place a small pot on a stove top on medium to low heat. Add all ingredients and allow it to simmer until the properties have combine with one another for 15 minutes (stir occasionally). Allow the turmeric milk to cool for a few minutes before drinking or If you would like to make a froth you can place drink into a small blender and mix for 30 seconds and serve as you please.
